2011/07/14(木)Rare Earth Blend のハンダ付けとメモ
コードの長い分を切って、ちょうどボディサイドを這ってエンドピンに届く長さにした。
ついでにステレオ配線にしたんで、扱うのに工夫が必要。
ステレオ配線のジャックにモノラルプラグを挿すと、マイク側の音が歪んだりノイズが乗ったりする。
取説をみると、
If you wish to go back to a mono output for a stereo wired Rare Earth Blend, you may do so without removing and rewiring the endpin jack. Instead,make a special adapter with a mono male plug at one end and a female stereo jack at the other. Leave the Ring terminal of the female stereo jack open.と、オスのモノプラグとメスのステレオジャックを持って、リングの配線をオープンにしたジャックを使え、とある。
Plug the stereo cord from the Rare Earth Blend into this adapter.
ステレオ/モノラル切り替えについては、要するにRingをGND(オーディオケーブルだとShieldっつうんですか)に落とさなきゃいい、って事なのでやりようはいくらでもある。単にステレオかどうかに関わらずTRSケーブルを使っておけば大抵はOKって考えもアリ。
モノラルケーブルのRingに相当する位置に絶縁テープを巻くとか。
The Blend model can be modified so the microphone signal is added to the ring output. Instructions for this modification are available from Service & Support at www.fishman.com.ステレオ出力にした場合も、右チャンネルがマイクで左チャンネルがピックアップになるわけじゃなく、左チャンネルは今まで通りで右チャンネルにマイクの出力が出るという状態になる。
Once the Rare Earth Blend is wired for stereo, the thumb-wheel will not affect the level of the microphone at the ring output, but it will continue to mix mic and pickup at the tip output. Move the thumb-wheel toward the treble side for all pickup to the tip.
For stereo operaton, use a TRS cable or a stereo “Y” cable. If you plug in a mono cable, you may hear distortion from the mic.
ボリュームを弄れば左チャンネルにマイクの音をミックスできるので、ステレオYケーブルで繋いで左チャンネルだけを使えば、モノラルの時と同じように使えるって事になる。ステレオの時はピックアップ:マイク=10:0にしておく事になる。
